In Hawaiian, Holomua means to improve; to progress. Like the name of her business, Britt Yap helps people heal, progress, and live their ideal lives. Her specialties are:
Reiki: (also known as energy healing or healing touch)
Hypnotherapy: (I basically help make your mind work FOR you, rather than against you.)
Life Coaching / Business Coaching
While Britt is located in Alameda, California, she does work with clients all over the world.
History
Established in 2013.
Britt is a certified life coach, clinical hypnotherapist and Reiki Master Teacher. She is also Britt also holds a B.A. in Journalism and M.A. in Communication from Hawai'i Pacific University.
Meet the Business Owner
Britt was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis at age 20 and has lived with chronic pain and anemia for a decade. In 2012, her health snowballed and a massive flare up in her colon ensued. For months she tried all types of Western medicine, but nothing worked. At her lowest point, she went to the ER twice in two days with her vitals spiraling out of control. Doctors hospitalized her for a week, ran tests, tried to stabilize her vitals, and concluded that they needed to remove her entire colon.
Britt didn't like that idea and spent the next 48 hours "getting her head right" (as she called it). She said emotional stress and anxiety had manifested into physical form, leaving her body in so much pain she couldn't bare it. Doctors checked on her several days later and saw enough improvement so they sent her home to recover.
Britt discovered hypnotherapy soon after and used Reiki (healing touch) to get better. Today, she still has her colon, and wholeheartedly believes in the power of Reiki and hypnotherapy. She believes in it so much that she changed her career and opened up a business allowing her to help people full time.
